My great Grandmother passed. My employers gives PTO for funeral including "grandparents" does this death apply

I gave notice to my employer as soon as I got word of the death. Like I said she is my Great Grandmother. The handbooks specifies grandparent. Technically she is still a grandparent. Shouldnt I be compensated for these days?

1. Technically she isn't. It's totally their call.
2. technically great grand parent is not the same as grand parent . . it will at the discretion of the hr dept
3. maybe you should ask your companies human resource dept. instead
