Prepaid funeral arrangements and cost?

What should I expect to pay, and what type of services, etc. should I look for? Are there any guarantees that I will get what I pay for?

1. The only experience I have had with that is when my wife's mother died a few years ago. She had prepaid her funeral arrangements and the mortuary honored everything. They did, however, try to upsell things that weren't included on the original agreement. What a bunch of ghouls, huh?
2. You should expect to pay several thousand dollars, depending on how lavish you want the arrangement to be. And of course, once you start waving that big wad of cash in front of the Funeral Home Directors, they will bend to your every demand. The guarantees will obviously not be enforceable by you against them, since you will be dead, but your heirs will be able to make sure the process is EXACTLY as you demanded in the contract. Just give a few loved ones copies of the agreement and go over your requests with them.
