Need to know what organizations will help with funerals in Georgia?

M uncle died of throat cancer and he did not have any insurance. i need to know what groups help people out that are in this situation. He lived in Elberton Georgia.

1. call your local United Way or Catholic Charities office, they will give you suggestions. Did he have a church? do YOU have a church? Why do you need a funeral anyway? People get too hung up on ceremony and "show"....what did your uncle want--he probably was a simple man and wouldnt like all that crap.
2. My brother died recently and didn't have a cent. We had him cremated. We also rented a room for visitation. And we put a pretty big add in the paper. The total cost was about $1500. So take off everything you don't need and the rest of the family pitch in and you can afford it! Good luck †
3. Was he a veteran? Bless your heart. I was trying to do searches with the words "indigent" and "funeral" and "Georgia" That's when I found out about possible help for military veterans. Maybe try the words "indigent burial" ? Sorry I couldn't be of more help! Hope you do find something!
